Which Sydney are you moving to?

You can’t believe your luck! You’ve been offered an overseas posting and, amazingly, it’s to one of the world’s most beautiful cities, Sydney! You’re already dreaming of your new life... Stepping out of bed and onto the sand for an early swim, watching the kids play on the beach from your balcony, an after work beer overlooking the ocean….

The good news is, this isn’t a dream, this is real life for some Sydneysiders. Yet most of the city’s 5 million population choose to live elsewhere...

At EWR, our consultants live all over Sydney and can offer you a local’s view on the upsides and downsides of living in every corner of our home city. Our orientation service is designed to introduce you to the wide variety of suburbs and lifestyles on offer in the Emerald City, to ensure that you make an informed and supported choice on your future home suburb.

And in case you are wondering why so many Sydneysiders opt to live away from the surf...

It’s cheaper. Renting and buying a home in beachside suburbs can be very expensive, especially if ocean views are included. EWR’s Home Search services can help you find the perfect home within your budget, even if it does involve a short drive to the beach.

Less competition. Lots of other people want the beach at their doorstep too! EWR’s consultants have long-established relationships with real estate agents all over Sydney, so we are well-placed to hear about properties first and sometimes before they come to market.

Fewer people. There is plenty of space for everyone a little further inland and fewer tourists too! Because we are suburb experts, our consultants often surprise our clients with hidden secrets…..what about Riverview, or Middle Cove, Little Bay or Chiswick, Mortlake or Mortdale…..but ssshhhh, don’t tell any one I told you…

Calmer traffic. Beachside suburbs get very congested, especially in the warmer months.

Amazing natural environments. Sydney is surrounded by pristine native bush land. Lane Cove National Park (below) is in heart of the North Shore of Sydney. And did you know that the Royal National Park in Sydney’s south is the second oldest National Park in the world…..?

Welcoming communities. Sydneysiders are a friendly, accepting and multicultural bunch who love to get together in their homes and parks as well as their beaches. Our consultants get to know their clients and their families so that they can introduce them to the suburbs that suit them best, for example, Lane Cove, Cherrybrook, Balmain and Dulwich Hill, to name just a few, are fabulous for families, and Surry Hills, Newtown, Neutral Bay and Cammeray are great for singles and couples.

Fantastic food. Explore an array of affordable dining options along ‘eat streets’ or in ethnic centres like Petersham (Portuguese), Hurstville/Chatswood (Chinese), Lakemba (Lebanese), Ashfield (Indian), Leichardt (Italian), etc

Sport and Entertainment galore, including world class sporting facilities, theatres, museums, galleries and cinemas across the regional centres of Sydney. For instance, Parramatta, in Sydney’s West, is home to the brand new Bankwest stadium, and Homebush – base for the 2000 Sydney Olympics and a plethora of events year round (Covid19 restrictions allowing) – is just down the road. There is always plenty going on wherever you are.

Eclectic shopping strips. Find something different along local shopping strips or at artisan markets in Paddington or Newtown, Glebe or Balmain or find all the big name brands at one of the many mega-Mall’s in Sydney’s urban centres, such as Chatswood, Bondi Junction, Castle Hill, Parramatta, Ryde, Hornsby and Liverpool. Our consultants will ensure that you find a home which is conveniently located for both the essentials and for fun.

And the best news is, with nowhere very far from the ocean, in Sydney you can live the dream and have the best of both worlds.

Our Sydney experts have helped countless families to find the corner of Sydney that best suits them and their lifestyle. If you would like one of our consultants to find the perfect home for you and your family, be it beachside, semi-rural or suburban, Contact Us now.
